ASME will be having a bowling outing next Tuesday, November 20th, at 7PM. Feel free to stop by for some fun and get to know other ASME members. Everyone is more than welcome to bring any friends to this event. If you are interested in coming please email Ahtziri (aleon21@uic.edu) for more info on the event.
Here are the rates for bowling and playing pool at SCE:
Bowling per game (I believe you only have to pay for shoe rental once)
    UIC students – $4.00
    shoe rental – $3.00
    party (group of 12) – $12 per person for 2 hours of play, shoes not included
Pool per hour
    UIC students – $6.50
Tuesday Bowling after 8PM Special ( 2 hours of play time, shoes included)
    UIC students – $8

GBM #5: Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush will be coming in for our GBM on Wednesday, October 24th at 5 PM. The meeting will take place in ERF 1043. Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush in Chicago, Illinois, is widely recognized as the regional leader in comprehensive orthopedic services. They will be discussing the work done in the Tribology lab and education after completing a bachelor’s degree in engineering. GBM #4: Molex Visits UIC

Our next GBM will feature Molex, a manufacturer of electronic, electrical and fiber optic interconnection systems. Molex (a subsidiary of Koch Industries) is a globally recognized provider of electronic solutions in a wide range of industries, including data communications, consumer electronics, industrial, automotive, commercial vehicle and medical.

Molex offers mechanical and electrical engineering positions, among others; therefore, ASME and IEEE have collaborated to organize this GBM, which will take place on Wednesday, October 10th. The location will be announced shortly, keep an eye on this website for an update. There will pizza after the presentation in ERF 1043.

AfterBurn Networking Event Hosted by Design Engine

Design Engine is hosting their AfterBurn networking event with a discussion in their Chicago studio.  Join them Thursday, October 18th from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at 4043 N. Ravenswood Avenue, Suite 301, Chicago, IL 60613. Food and beverages will be provided. Doors open at 5:00 PM once class wraps up for the day.

Design Engine will be coming to our general body meeting on Wednesday, September 26th at 5PM. The meeting will take place in room ERF 1043. Design Engine specializes in training courses for a variety of CAD software.
